Saga in 2026 — what's new
The Proton Saga carries into 2026 unchanged as the MC3, launched in 2025. It is a more substantial rework than a styling refresh: the car uses a revised Advanced Modular Architecture platform and a new Geely-derived 1.5-litre i-GT four-cylinder petrol engine. The range remains Standard, Executive and Premium, all with 118 hp, front-wheel drive and five seats; the Premium alone uses a CVT automatic.
Which variant to buy
Start with the RM38,990 Standard if the priority is the lowest purchase price, because it has the same 1,499 cc, 118 hp petrol engine and front-wheel-drive layout as the other two. The RM44,990 Executive costs RM6,000 more and uses a four-speed automatic, but the available specification does not establish an equipment advantage, so check the equipment list before spending extra. The RM49,990 Premium is for buyers who specifically want the CVT automatic; the RM11,000 gap from Standard is substantial.
